What happens with your data here
myrtobuddy.com doesn’t ask you to sign up, log in, or hand over personal details to read a guide. This page explains the little that does get collected, and why.
What information is collected
There are no accounts on this site, and reading a guide doesn’t require submitting any personal information. The only information collected happens automatically, the way it does on almost any website:
- Standard server logs (your browser type, approximate location, the pages you visited, and the time of your visit), used only to keep the site running and understand overall traffic patterns.
- Cookies set by analytics and advertising tools, described below.
- Anything you send directly, if you choose to email hello@myrtobuddy.com or reach out through the Contact page. That information is used only to reply to you.
Cookies and advertising
Google AdSense
This site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
Analytics
Analytics tools are used to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use this site (which pages are popular, where visitors come from) so guides can be improved. This data is looked at in aggregate, not tied to reaching out to any individual visitor.
Managing cookies
Most browsers let you clear or block cookies from Settings or Preferences. Blocking cookies may make ads less relevant but won’t stop you from reading any guide on this site.
External links
Guides link out to official government portals and occasionally other external sites. Once you leave MyRTOBuddy, that site’s own privacy policy applies. This policy only covers MyRTOBuddy itself.
Children’s privacy
MyRTOBuddy is not directed at children, and no personal information is knowingly collected from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted here. Checking back occasionally is the only way to know, since there’s no account or email list to notify.
